Subtech is a project started back in 1996. Working out of a small apt studio, the “Subtech Derelict” began merging jungle loops & strange samples with his formidable keyboard talents. The name Subtech comes from the lowtech methods involved in creating his music. Turntables, broken headphones, samplers that hold only 5 secs of audio, boomboxes with only one working speaker, and anything else that could be obtained were used to record.
From this beginning, a cadre of talented vocalists, MCs, musicians and producers would emerge to refine the music, and take the Subtech sound to the next level.
As the music end of things picked up, the members of subtech gained expertise in other associated skills. To promote the music we had to sharpen our web, graphic design, and video editing skills.
